Electrical Engineering is one of the largest, broadest, and oldest engineering disciplines. The Department has designed the course, developed with inputs and guidance from the industry, which includes Network Analysis and Synthesis, Electromagnetic Theory, Electrical Machines, Power System, Control System, Power Electronics & Drives, Utilization of Electrical Machines., High Voltage etc. The syllabi benchmarking has been done as per AICTE model curricula, relevance of subjects as per GATE and Indian Engineering Services Examination and syllabus adopted by other institutions of higher learning such as NITs and IITs. The recommended curriculum was finally approved by Board of Studies. The course mainly focuses on core Electrical Engineering requirement of industry. We also offer elective subjects like fundamentals of computer, Information technology etc. to develop programming and simulation skills in students.
Having done the Bachelors of technology in Electrical Engineering, a lot of scope is there in the field of research and development in areas of Power Sector-Generation, Transmission, and Distribution, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Control System. Many core industries have invested in the power sector, especially in renewable energy which will have a high demand in the future because of the limited resource of conventional sources of energy.
