With the advent of Internet and world wide web (www), the access to information has become very easy and the entire world is moving towards digitization. Twenty first century students learn in a global classroom and not necessarily within four walls. They are more inclined to find information by accessing the Internet through mobile phones and computers, or chatting with friends on a social networking site. The advancements in technology and the plethora of powerful and innovative digital devices and tools have a great potential to improve educational outcomes.  Educators must understand that the use of digital content and devices will improve teaching and learning and thus enhance educational opportunities and benefit the Millennial.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have immensely popular in the field of education, especially higher education. It aims at providing quality education using the Internet. It encourages participative learning and extends the boundaries across the globe. MOOCs are the key drivers in online delivery of the knowledge, and to create the sustainable open-knowledge network. MOOCs and online delivery is clearly the future. MOOCs are the key driver in this paradigm-shift and build up a sustainable open knowledge network to ensure that every student benefits from gathering updated knowledge through ICT.

Mr. Amit Kumar, State Representative (HP) and Resource Person of Spoken-Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay, MHRD, Govt of India in the state of HP, India.He is serving as a Resource Person for Designing & Implementation of ICT in Education Curriculum with CIET, NCERT, MHRD, Govt. of India

Objectives

This FDP on E-content development is meant to understand the meaning and standards of E-content, learning objects, designing and development of digital resources for teaching and learning. Thus this course aims in providing the knowledge and skill for teachers to cater to present day learners and their learning styles.

The FDP aims at generating awareness among the participants and encourages learning through such platform. This program aims to train the participant in understanding the various categorical challenges of developing and implementing E contents. The FDP also involves hands-on on content development to make learning more interactive. Other objectives are

  • To create awareness about E contents development among the participant.
  • To identify the process and steps involved in developing E contents
  • Exploring different aspects on developing MOOCs
  • Addressing the challenges involved while developing MOOCs.

Pedagogical Approach

This programme follows a peer-learning approach. Hence, this would be a highly interactive and intensive programme. The pedagogy used for the sessions would be online interactive lectures and hands-ontraining with cases. 3 Days live session of one hour daily and 2 days to share tutorials and assignments.
