Bee keeping needs less investment and labour with prodigious care of them and a great relationship between the human being and the bees. In India, bee keeping is usually done in all the regions to get more money applying less effort. Bee keeping is a motivating farming and a model for Agro-based subsidiary enterprise, as well as supplementary and major source of income to the people living in the rural areas. Honey bees are not only vital for the honey even they are important as pollinators of agricultural and horticultural crops as 85% of cross-pollinated crops are totally dependent upon the pollination by the bees. The main aim of this webinar is acquaintance about Bee keeping farming.

Dr. Balraj Singh having more than 32 years experience. Being project co-ordinator, he has excellent experience in Apiculture. He was handled the additional charge of Vice Chancellor in SKN Agri. University, Jobner (Rajasthan), Dr. S. R. Ayurved University, Jodhpur and as a regular charge of Vice Chancellor in Agriculture University, Jodhpur. He has published a book entitle “Protected Cultivation of Vegetable Crops”. He is also chief editor of some famous books like “Resource Conservation Technologies for Seed Spices”, “Advances in Protected Cultivation”, “Plant Productivity under environmental stresses etc. He is Academic Member of the ‘Athens Institute for Education and Research’ (ATINER), The European Plant Science Organization (EPSO), Brussels and of the working group on “Opportunities beyond present crops”, The European Plant Science Organization (EPSO), Brussels. He is having more than 150 publications in high rated journals.

Presently Mr. Amit Kumar is working on Indo- Israel Agriculture Project as Bee Expert at Integrated Beekeeping Development Centre, Ram Nagar (Kurukshetra), which is a premier Institution for apiculture in India. He has vast experience in rearing, production technology, Queen rearing, grafting, diseases and pest management, management of honey bees in winter & summer season, honey extraction, nectar & pollen producing flora and migration of honey bees from local and distant places and also have good knowledge in beekeeping equipments. He is giving training on “Bee keeping” to the farmers / beekeepers of Haryana and other States.
