The course addresses different aspects of agriculture including Forestry and Horticulture as well. The students are given in-depth knowledge of scientific agricultural practices and trending farming techniques. The idea is to upgrade their skills and nurture a professional attitude towards agricultural development. The focus of the course is to create professionals who work on promoting best practices in agriculture for rural and national development.

1st Semester

To give students an idea of basics of Horticulture specifically in relation to fruit plants.

Students will know about Biochemistry, different types of biomolecules and their importance

Students will study about the soil profile and learn practical knowledge how to collect the soil samples and its processing and storage.

Deals with identification of forestry tree species, their importance, utilization and management.

To strengthen the grammatical expression and writing skills of the students.

Deals about basic concepts in agronomy and crop cultivation and factors affecting the cultivation.

To explain living world in terms of scientific principles and appreciating all organisms which behave differently.

To teach students about lines and their equations, circle and equations, differential and integral calculus.

To bring awareness about ancient and traditional agricultural systems and how it is different from other civilization.

To impart knowledge to the students on sociological and psychological aspects of rural people and to acquaint with some important features of rural society.

To create awareness on management of ethics and human values among students.

2nd Semester

Know techniques of manipulation of genetic material for a wide variety of purposes and products via Recombinant DNA Technology.

How to prepare nursery bed, Basics of kitchen gardening&Fertilizer application

To learn about  definition and agents of soil erosion, water erosion: Forms of water erosion.

To be able to make temporary slides of plant and observe the vital processes occurring inside the plants.

To comprehend and analyze the rural economic situation of the country and also confidently answer the questions regarding the subject of agricultural economics.     

To know the different classics of plant pathology, development and research in field of plant pathology and their impact on human civilization.

Know the morphology and systematics of the insects

Develop communicating skills with the farmers

To acquaint students with knowledge of the computer systems with emphasis on their uses and limitation

Eligibility Criteria

Duration: 4 yrs.

The candidates should have passed the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination from a recognized Board/University with subjects including English as one of the subjects or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics or Agriculture stream with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST categories).

Note:

  1. The Fee will have to be deposited at the time of Counselling.
  2. University Charges will be extra as per University norms.
  3. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
  4. There will be an annual increase of 7% in tuition fees.
  5. Students Fund for all the students is Rs.2,000/- p.a.
  6. Lifetime Alumni Membership fee is Rs. 4,000/-.
  7. Hostel & Transport Charges will be extra.
  8. Students who wish to leave the Institute mid-stream, will have to deposit the fee for the remaining period of the course as per judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and others Vs State of Karnataka & PA lnamdar case.
