The course addresses different aspects of agriculture including Forestry and Horticulture as well. The students are given in-depth knowledge of scientific agricultural practices and trending farming techniques. The idea is to upgrade their skills and nurture a professional attitude towards agricultural development. The focus of the course is to create professionals who work on promoting best practices in agriculture for rural and national development.
Agriculture would continue to be the most self-sustaining and economically gratifying sector of an economy. Students equipped with professional degree can choose to work as agro entrepreneurs or innovators or in agri policy reform sector as well. The food processing sector is also brimming with opportunities. You can find lucrative work profiles like Agriculture Development Officers (ADO) and Block Development Officers (BDO).Specializations or research project done in agronomy, soil sciences, horticulture, plant breeding and genetics, entomology, , plant biochemistry, agro economy biotechnology etc adds to the employability quotient of a student.

The candidates should have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) examination from recognized Board/University with subjects including English as one of the subjects or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics or Agriculture stream with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST categories).
