The basic motive of this eighteen-month diploma course is to prepare the students for working in the Catering and Hospitality Industry. It includes theory and practical components covering food preparation, Cooking Principles and Practices, Food Safety and Hygiene. In the first year, the students are trained theoretically in the areas of food production and the last six months will be utilized as Industrial Training where the students will get an opportunity to work in real-time environment and situations in the hotel which will enhance the practical skills of the students.

Enhance the professional skills of the students
To improve the presentation skills of the students and to build up the confidence to express their views
Duration: 1½ year including 6 months Industrial Training
The candidate should have passed the Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination with at least five subjects including English as a compulsory subject from any recognized Board/ University

A diploma in Food Production is designed to train the students for a specific job profile in a hotel. After completion of the course, the students would be able to work in many establishments such as restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, healthcare resident facilities and hospitals, etc. Students gain the skills and confidence to join the industry as Cook and will progress further as Senior Cook, Supervisor and can rise up to the level of Manager according to his/her experience in the industry. They can also become an Entrepreneur in the related field.
