M. Pharm. or Master of Pharmacy is a postgraduate academic degree which is awarded for a course or program in the field of pharmacy. The M. M. college of Pharmacy is offering M. Pharm. (Quality assurance) course of two years duration. M. Pharmacy is divided into number of semester. Students attend lectures and seminars and take part in practical pharmacy placements. After the end of semester, there is an examination for each semester. The programme is concluded by defending the thesis and taking the final examination. Analysis and testing go hand in hand with this industry specially in order to maintain a proper Quality control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA). For the same highly skilled staff is required by companies to handle sensitive analytical dealings and sophisticated equipment. M. Pharm. in Quality assurance prepare students as Regulatory affairs professional and as a scientist, Assistant, Analyst in terms of quality assurance and quality control. There is plethora of job opportunity after the completion of course like academics, research, Quality assurance, Quality control.

Curriculum

1st Semester

This subject deals with various advanced analytical instrumental techniques for identification, characterization and quantification of drugs. Instruments dealt are NMR, Mass spectrometer, IR, HPLC, GC etc.

This course is designed to impart fundamental knowledge and concepts about various quality management principles and systems utilized in the manufacturing industry. It also aids in understanding the quality evaluation in the pharmaceutical industries.

This deal with technology transfer covers the activities associated with Drug Substance, Drug Product and analytical tests and methods, required following candidate drug selection to completion of technology transfer from R&D to the first receiving site and technology transfer related to post-marketing changes in manufacturing places.
2nd Semester

This course is designed to convey the knowledge necessary to understand issues related to different kinds of hazard and their management. Basic theoretical and practical discussions integrate the proficiency to handle the emergency situation in the pharmaceutical product development process and provides the principle based approach to solve the complex tribulations.

The main purpose of the subject is to understand about validation and how it can be applied to industry and thus improve the quality of the products. The subject covers the complete information about validation, types, methodology and application.

This course deals with the understanding and process for auditing in pharmaceutical industries. This subject covers the methodology involved in the auditing process of different in pharmaceutical industries.

This course is designed to impart knowledge and skills necessary to train the students with the industrial activities during Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.

3rd and 4th Semester
To allow the students to develop experimental skills in the core area of preclinical, clinical formulation development, phytochemical studies, analytical techniques , and quality audit of the product.
Eligibility (Duration: 2 Years)

The candidate should have passed Bachelor in Pharmacy with minimum least 55% marks (50% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination

Note:

  1. The Fee will have to be deposited at the time of Counselling.
  2. University Charges will be extra as per University norms.
  3. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
  4. There will be an annual increase of 7% in tuition fee.
  5. Students Fund for all the students is Rs.2,000/- p.a.
  6. Life time Alumni Membership fee is Rs. 4,000/-.
  7. Hostel & Transport Charges will be extra.
  8. Students who wish to leave the Institute mid-stream, will have to deposit the fee for the remaining period of the course as per judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Islamic Academy of Education and others Vs State of Karnataka & PA lnamdar case.
