World Food Day

World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year around the world on 16 October to raise awareness of issues behind poverty and hunger and to ensure the need for food. The Students of MMICTBM and MMICTBM (HM) have celebrated this day by conducting two successful events. The Students and Faculty of MMICTBM distributed 150 Food (Ration) Packets to 50 families in the slum area of Mullana. The main goal was to help the underprivileged and downtrodden on the big day. The 2nd event was the awareness program that was conducted in the Centralized Mess at 12.30 Pm. The students of MMICTBM and MMICTBM (HM) aware the students to not waste food as wasted food means wastage of money and effort which is never good for anyone. It can be estimated that tons of food is wasted every year, so students from both the institutes prepared posters and motivated students to try to avoid wasting food. The slogan “UTNA HI LE THAALI ME VYARTH NA JAAYE NAALI MEIN” was used to make them aware. A total of 27 volunteers participated in the event including 20 Students and 07 Faculties and nearly 800 students were motivated to not waste food. The event attracted praise from the underprivileged and was a great success.
