There is nothing ordinary about the story of Himanshu Batra; neither his hard work nor the rewards he reaped for his focused efforts. In fact, this is one of the inspirational stories for the youth of India to think the new, follow their heart, chase their dreams and choose the right university as the first pedestal of success. Himanshu Batra, a proud alumnus of MMDU, has succeeded in taking his 2015-founded venture Acadview to pinnacle of success which is now being acquired by the online startup UpGrad, a company of wizard of Entertainment Mr. Ronnie Screwvala.
Himanshu has always been an idea catalytic as narrated by his family in the stories of his childhood. His ideas and go-getter spirit got full support in the MMDU’s world-class learning ambiance where he got a chance to explore his potential not just in classroom but in UPSTART as well. Upstart is the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club of MMDU which encourages the budding ideators to come forward and conceptualize them into a reality with resourceful guidance from the University team.
This must have been the first step of Himanshu Batra which further led to the creation of Acadview, a venture that enables fresh graduates to find coveted jobs by upskilling them with in-demand technologies and tools. Done with the help of online courses and industry projects, the venture aimed to help young IT professionals make extra income by teaching said courses and mentoring students. In a short span of time, Acadview has partnered with more than 80 private universities in North India and has been chosen by more than 3,000 students in last year alone. Acadview is now taken over by Ronnie Screwvala’s UpGrad which targets working professionals looking to get back to learning and progress in their careers without quitting their jobs. It is worth mentioning Ronnie Screwvala has invested Rs 100 crore in UpGrad and has also committed an additional Rs 200 crore for future.
This is just the beginning for Himanshu as he continues to invest in changing the world. Currently, he is helping students in preparing them academically and technologically for the real world's challenges. Students like him multiply exponentially the legacy of MMDU and make every single faculty member overwhelmingly proud.
