MM College of Nursing (MMCN) offers degrees in the following programmes:
After completing B.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, the graduate nurses easily get jobs in the clinical setting or as Clinical Instructors in Colleges of Nursing whereas the postgraduate nurses, after completion of M.Sc. Nursing, are offered a higher post with managerial capacity in the clinical setting or as a Nurse Educator both in the Hospitals and Colleges of Nursing.
The primary focus of Ph.D. Nursing is to build a career in Research and Education.
Irrespective of the program the student is completing (B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing, or Ph.D. Nursing), they have definite opportunity to go abroad for working in the hospitals/health care settings. Many of our students have got offers from the healthcare companies ad hospitals abroad to work and grow in this segment.
In the first year, special sessions are taken for personality development as an integral part of the curriculum which includes focusing on group presentations, quiz competitions and role-plays, etc. to build the confidence of students. Students can also voluntarily opt for NSS activities.
Corporate hospitals like Asian Heart Institute, Columbia Asia, Artemis, and for overseas placement, INSCOL and Purpose Immigration come for a campus recruitment drive in the MMCN.
The highest pay package taken by graduate nurses and postgraduate nurses is INR 3 LPA to INR 4 LPA respectively. If the student gets a government job, their starting pay package is INR 9 LPA.
Yes, MMCN arranges for the training and internship of its students. For undergraduate students, they have an integrated system of internship in the 4th year of their curriculum. Besides this, the students are also sent for special Outstation posting for various subjects like Mental Health Nursing and Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing as well as they get an enormous amount of clinical experience in their own parent hospital which helps the students to develop their competencies whereas postgraduate students have one month outstation posting in the clinical specialty.
MMCN follows the mentoring system where 15 students are assigned as mentees to single mentors with whom they can share their issues pertaining to academics, co-curricular, and hostel.
MMCN prepares the students at the end of their academic session particularly the students of the outgoing batches (B.Sc. Nursing 4th year, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing 2nd year and M.Sc. Nursing 2nd year) by giving them periodic objective type tests (MCQs) for preparation by which they can easily prepare for their upcoming Government entrance exams.
Both the academic and co-curricular achievers are felicitated annually and books as prizes are given to them.
Yes, each department of MMCN (Medical-Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, and Obstetrics & Gynecology Nursing) organizes one conference in a year and the annual conference is also organized by M.Sc. Nursing 2nd-year students. Besides this, other training sessions like GFATM, POCQI are also included.
