MM College of Pharmacy to set up Incubator facility under Ministry of MSME, Govt of India
MMDU reaches another milestone with one of its constituent institute, MM College of Pharmacy all set to be recognized as a Host Institute to set up an established business incubator for implementation of the scheme named ‘Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of MSMEs through Incubator’. The University has received an official letter from the Office of the Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India for the same. This facility will encourage entrepreneurs to come up with innovative solutions for New India by availing financial support up to Rs 15 lakh for every approved idea.
MM College of Pharmacy is requested to upload an undertaking duly signed and stamped which would then result in making the institute eligible to submit new innovative ideas for getting financial support under the said scheme. The biggest benefit of this facility is that now the university will be eligible to get financial support and grants for its students having an entrepreneurial bent of mind. MMDU is already known for its commitment to quality education and world-class professional courses. With this new business incubator, the University will be able to support the innovations, ideas and start-ups of its students. The university will also see many more top MNCs flocking the University campus during campus placement drive.
The focus areas of this incubation facility are water recycling technologies, recycling of waste water from households, alternatives of Plastic, bio-fuel usage, development of medical devices and environment- friendly vehicles under Make-In-India project, agro-processing, renewable energy, energy-efficient homes etc.
MM College of Pharmacy has received a lot of proposals so far; the scrutiny and shortlisting of applications is being done. The winning/approved ideas would be announced on Feb 22, 2020.
