Research Orientation Programe

Research Orientation Programme means that the faculty members and research scholars systematically examine the foundations, quality and results of their work. It is essential for the researcher to guide and educate towards this type of research oriented professional practice. The participants will grow into an expert capable of identifying, limiting and redefining problems, assessing and analysing situations. The aim of this programme is to help faculty members and research scholars in understanding the intricacies of writing a paper, improving citations and getting it published in quality journals. It also focus on how to find the funding agencies and experts with time and effort saving.

Dr. Vijay Kumar Thakur is Professor and Head of the Biorefining and Advanced Materials Research Centre at SRUC, Edinburgh (UK) and also holds Visiting Professor position at Cranfield University, UK, an Adjunct Professor position in the Research School of Polymeric Materials, Jiangsu University, China; and Visiting Professor at Shiv Nadar University India. He has previously held faculty positions at Cranfield University UK, Washington State University USA, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Dr. Rupashree Baral

Dr. Rupashree Baral is a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in teaching and research. She is a highly accomplished researcher in India having worked extensively in the area of work-family dynamics. Her research, training and consulting interests include Work-Life Balance, Family-Friendly HR Policies and Practices, Women in Management and Entrepreneurship, Employer Branding, CSR, Technology and Human Interface, and Knowledge Sharing Behavior.

Dr. Sourish Dasgupta

Dr. Sourish Dasgupta has been working on some really challenging and fun AI problems in the intersection zone of NLP, Recommendation Systems, and Knowledge Graphs for the last 15 years, dating back to his Ph.D. days at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, USA. When he is not working on AI problems he would be busy learning and applying the art and science of business development at his startup RAx Labs. He always sneaks some time out which he dedicates to his culinary pursuit, history study, and of course Tintin. DA-IICT happens to be a constant target of all the experiments that he conducts at RAx Labs. Making research fun has become his life mission.

Ms. Garima Turan is working as an Account Manager in Research Solution Sales department APAC with Elsevier. She is responsible for entire North and West India Tier 4 colleges for sales. She has previously worked as a Product Trainer in the same organization being responsible for customer engagements for Indian technical institutions for different product trainings like ScienceDirect, Scopus and Mendeley. She has experience in event organizing, public speaking, mentoring undergraduate students for professional and personal development. She also has interest in data visualization and analysis.

Dr. Adesh Saini

Dr. Adesh K Saini, Dean Faculty of Basic Sciences; PhD-NET (JRF) in Biomedical Sciences (University of Delhi/Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, India), Post-Doctoral Fellow at NICHD-National Institutes of Health, Bethesda USA. Earlier, he was Director of Center of Research on Himalayan Sustainability and Development, and Dean-cum-Head of Faculty of Sciences at Shoolini University. His Research group focuses on the sustainable development of Himalayan ecosystem using the-state-of-art themes of microbial biodiversity, genetics, gene regulation and nano-bacteriology/oncology. He has received grants of around Rs 1.5 crores from Department of Science and Technology, National Mission on Himalayan Studies, MoEF&CC and International grant from DST-MBIE (Indo-NZ).

Dr. T. Thyagarajan

Anna University, Chennai

Dr. T. Thyagarajan pursued Ph.D in Intelligent Control at Anna University and Post Doctoral research at NTU, Taiwan (Top 10 under QS – BRICS ranking). He is one of the icons in the field of autotuning. He served as HOD- E & I for 6 years, established facilities worth Rs 3 Cr. He secured 2 awards from IEEE and Springer two times for maximum usage of e-resources. He has generated the revenue of worth Rs 6 Cr, secured SEED award for best industry-institute interaction for the 2 consecutive years. As Director – IQAC he played active role to secure 4th rank in NIRF-2018 under University Category and also submitted proposal for IOE for Rs 1000 Cr grants. He also played significant role in getting UGC- UPE status with a funding Rs 22 Cr for Anna University.

Dr. Utpal Bora

Dr. Utpal Boara is having around 100 publications and many patents. His research group focus on a very innovative area such as exploiting our indigenous bio material silk to develop various scaffolds for tissue engineering and medical applications. Their group fabricated silk based scaffolds for controlled release of curcumin which is a well-known anti-cancer agent. Silk based scaffolds also been shown for hepatic tissue engineering applications. Recently their group showed silk-GNP based neural guiding conduits could be a promising solution in neural tissue engineering.
