Abstract-

Rapid growth in road transport sector leads to increased vehicular emissions resulting in deterioration in ambient air quality. The prediction of pollutant concentrations emitted from vehicle exhaust help in management of air quality along the road corridor and nearby areas. The present study has focused on the dispersion of traffic related air pollution using CALINE 4 along the state highway corridor (SH-5) at Ambala Cantonment. CALINE4 is user friendly model and predicts CO concentrations. CALINE 4 performance has been evaluated using well referred statistical descriptors. It is observed that predicted and observed CO concentration is satisfactorily agreement to each other. The CO concentration is found well within the NAAQS.
