The deliverable will include brief history on Recommender Systems, its goals and recent trends and innovations, how recommender systems in Amazon.com, Netflix.com, Google and Facebook, Basic models of recommender systems: Collaborative Filtering, Content based recommender systems and Knowledge based recommender systems Evaluation of a recommender system. The key benefits for the audience will is that they got to know about latest trends in this technology and how innovations are done through Recommendation Systems.

Prabhjot Singh is presently working as a Software Developer with Amazon.com. He has pursued Masters in Information Security from National Institute of Technology Surathkal, Karnataka and Masters in Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. He has published research papers on Evolutionary Game Theory and Bitcoin in International Journals including a best paper award for paper titled “Adaptive Selection of Cryptographic Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks using Evolutionary Game Theory”. His areas of interest include Competitive Programming, Recommender Systems and Information Security. He is presently working on Personalization and Recommendations for Amazon’s retail website.
