Dental hygienists course is a two year comprehensive course with a great future prospective for the candidate. The candidate will work in collaboration with Dental surgeons in their operatories. They typically will spend more time with patients as compared to the dentist. Besides performing a variety of routine dental treatments like fluoridation of teeth, shooting radiographs, Oral prophylaxis etc, they help educate the patients towards the dental diseases and their possible treatment modalities. Like the other healthcare professionals, dental hygienists have to get licensed in their respective regional body after the completion of their course.

This subject aims to provide thestudent a comprehensive knowledge of the normal physiological and biochemical functions of different organ systems, tissues and cells of the body.
The study of this subject in helps to understand rational and scientific basis of drugs and therapeutics pertinent with dentistry as well as other diseases and conditions which may have dental implications and interactions.

It deals with preventing disease, prolonging life & promoting physical & mental efficiency through organized community efforts for the sanitation of the environment, the control of communicable infections and imparting education to the society for personal hygiene.
Introduction and knowledge of basic ethics in dental practice.
This science makes the student aware of different type of dental materials used in the treatment along with continued research has led to new material systems. The vast knowledge will help the student to practice dentistry with utmost skills.
Candidate should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission or within 3months of it and should be medically fit to pursue the course. ii. The candidate must have passed 10+2 or two years intermediate or equivalent course thereof with Science subjects (i.e.) Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Indian University or PreUniversity/Intermediate Board
