Electro-active soft artificial muscles were newly developed by employing collectively exhaustive boron and sulfur co- doped porous carbon electrodes. The antagonistic co-doping of the electrode provides fast charge-transfer rate and high electro-chemo-mechanical properties in the developed artificial muscles. The designed artificial muscles exhibit large bending strain, excellent durability and higher bending response compared to their asymmetric ionic actuators under extremely low harmonic input
