Law is a dynamic and mature approach of the society, but it is possible with balanced and creative research work. In its ordinary sense, research means an act or searching into a matter carefully and closely. In the academic world, research means a systematic investigation of existing facts or knowledge resulting to any matter with the object of finding some truth or reality. It can be said the re-examination of previous theories with changing dimensions of the society amounts to research. Legal research connects the threads between law and society, how they react in different context. Research tries to bring about the the perfection in law. At a less obvious level part of the law may be in need of reform because it in an inconvenient shape rather than it produces unfair result. Reformers have said over the years that the law ought to be simple, intelligible, certain, well arranged, adequately indexed and put into physical form. Research is helpful in the reformation of legal system. For example the criminal justice system can be best served if it is reformed after useful and meaningful research. In this paper the authors have made attempt to discuss some of the challenges in legal research, analyze two contrast views of legal research, and to offer suggestions for a systematic and efficient legal research.
