Rapeis amongst highest form of crime experienced women in the society. In the recent years, there has been an alarming increase in the ratio of rape in India. Large numbers of rape cases were reported in India in the recent years. The present study aimed to find out the demographic profile of rape victims. Delhi is the only union territory where such crimes were reported. Present study used National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) India data for the year 2003-2016. National Crime Records Bureau published the data on crime annually. The records by National Crime Records Bureau are complies from the records of police station all over the country. Present study shows number of rapes incidence in India and Delhi. During the study period rape cases increases in India and Delhi in 2016, India being on the top which shows an alarming increase of rape. In 2015, Delhi, being the territory which shows alarming rises in rape incidents. Rape is the fastest growing crime in the country as compared to the other crimes
