The modern developments of micro sensor devices have lead to the number of protocols in the field of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The sensor networks are capable enough to collect information and transmit it to the end user. But storage capacity, computing capability and limited energy are the major constraints for the wireless sensor networks. This paper describes the components of the wireless sensor networks and then a review of various energy conservation techniques is given.
