A fuzzy based approach to describe location of an object on path between pair of landmarks in qualitative terms for better decision making is introduced here. It transforms quantitative path information (Latitude and Longitude from GPS device) into qualitative path information (‘at’, ‘close’, ‘away’) to enhance semantics for users. The path between consecutive pair of landmarks will be expressed in terms of ‘at’, ‘close’ and ‘away’ from either end. A location at distance ‘d’ on path between landmarks ‘L1’ and ‘L2’ in qualitative terms will depend on distance from ‘L1’ to ‘L2’. In general query system status of navigating object is of binary nature. On applying this algorithm qualitative status will enhance it to get better information for decision making.
