Nobody in the society can deny the importance of mathematics in teaching. The irony lies in the fact that many students do not like mathematics as a subject in their curriculum. This may be due to the fact that the students may not be able to understand how the core mathematics helps them to solve the problems in daily life. The basic purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of mathematics in education describing the potential of the subject that covers various values in education.
