Violence against women and girls is a global phenomena. It knows no boundries, cutting across border race, culture and income group profoundly harming victims, people around them, and society as a whole. The rapid spread of technology cyber-crime is emerging as a global problem with serious implications for societies and economics around the world the increasing spread of the internet frames the urgency for effective legal and social controls on attitudes and criminal behaviour online. In Cyberspace, women are found to be victims of harassment via e- mail, cyber-stalking, cyber defamation, morphing, spoofing, hacking, cyber pornography and cyber sexual defamation, cyber flirting and cyber bullying. To protect a person against cyber-crime Indian Government has enacted the Information Technology Act, 2000. Under this Act the commercial and economic crimes widely covered but issues regarding safety of women against cybe- crime are not fully covered.
