This paper deals with the Environment degradation through highlighting water pollution in India. Spanning over in various parts, this paper looks at the position of water pollution and its impact over human race. In the first part, the importance of water for human beings has been projected. This part introduces the paper through describing that what water pollution is and what are the sources and types of water pollution. The next part of this paper deals with the critical analysis of the present environment laws for protecting water. In this part, the author has relied in the findings of various scholars and have criticized the Laws under various heads. The third part of this paper deals with the judicial response to control water pollution. The author has than concluded this paper with their views and suggestions to tackle to this problem so that this problem eradicates and the ultimate source of living remains unpolluted, i.e., Water.
