A folk dance of Gujarat, the dandiyaraas has become immensely popular outside Gujarat too. A group dance, it takes its name from the ‘dandiya‘ or the two sticks used during dancing, and is held after the evening aarti. Men and women, wearing traditional clothes and jewellery, spend hours performing this merry dance.
Department of Student Welfare for the first time planned to celebrate Dandiya & Garbha Night on occasion of Durga Pooja for the girl’s students.
It was mandatory for the girls to be dressed up in Indian Ethnic Dresses. The Event started with an Aarti and followed up with sessions of Grabha & Dandiya.
It was a non-competitive event.
