M.M. Institute of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation organized3 days Hands on Workshop on “Dry Needling: Research Intensive Practice” (Basic Level) from 9th to 11th March 2022. The aim of the workshop was to instruct the dry needling concept to be clinically applied on the patient to relive the pain in indicated conditions. The workshop was held at Clinical Skill and Simulation Centre, MMIMSR,MM (DU).
Prof. (Dr) Vipin Saini, Director, RAAC, MM(DU), graced the inaugural ceremony of the workshop.
Prof. (Dr) Manu Goyal (PT), Principal, MMIPR, addressed all the participants and introduced them to the guest. He shared his thoughts on the topic of workshop and also shared the importance of the Advanced technique (Dry Needling).The workshop started with a brief description of Human anatomy and physiology by the resource person,Needling kits were provided to the participants. A thorough Assessment protocol was demonstrated and detailed knowledge of three – dimensional topographic anatomy was systematicallyput into practice. After that, practical and hands on skills demonstration was performed by resource person and the participants practiced the techniques under his supervision. At the end, vote of thankswas delivered by Dr. Asir John Samuel, Professor, MMIPR, to the coordinators of the event; Dr. Mandeep K Jangra (PT), Assistant Professor, MMIPR, resource person and all the participants. The participants were facilitated with certification of participation by the resource person Dr. Deepak Chhabra. All the participants attended the workshop with great enthusiasm. The workshop was very effective and informative.MMIPR is looking forward to organize more such events in future.
