The Department of Public Health Dentistry, MMCDS&R, partnered with Indian Dental Association has organised a comprehensive Tobacco Control and Cessation Training Program for post graduate students on 14th October 2019. There were four short structured presentations by the resource persons followed by a group activity grappling the interest of the participants. Dr Vijay PrakashMathur (AIIMS, New Delhi) focussed on the role of dental professionals in tobacco control and pharmacological interventions & prevention of relapse in tobacco cessation therapy. Dr G.M Sogi (MMCDS&R, Ambala) pivoted his presentation on the effects of tobacco on general health and economy and Dr Arpit Gupta (PGI, Chandigarh) sensitised the audiences about the addiction process and brief intervention for tobacco cessation in dental office. Total 69 post graduate students were participated in this event. A spontaneous interactive session was observed among orators and participants.
