Centre for International Affairs has been established with the aim to explore the possibilities of the tie-ups with foreign universities of repute for student/faculty exchange, training programmes, international placements and admissions. Currently, students from nearly 40+ nationalities are studying in MM(DU) campus including students from Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Burundi, Canada, D R Congo, Congo (Brazzaville), Egypt, Eswatini (Swaziland), Germany, Ghana, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Namibia, Nepal, Portugal, Rwanda, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States of America, Zambia & Zimbabwe . The department also helps the international students to overcome any difficulty they face, related to language, culture or any other problem and provides following services to the students:

The focus is to make them feel comfortable, so that they may be able to focus on their studies and make the best use of time spent at the campus.The department also organizes cross cultural fests and exchange programmes to contribute towards the overall development of the international students.

  • You are advised to carry sufficient funds (for two-three months) for your initial living expenses. You should ensure that the airline ticket is correct and the travel itinerary is accurate.
  • While travelling keep with you at all times, your passport (with valid Student/Research Visa).
  • If you have any medical problem/allergies or ailments ensure that you have an updated case file to be carried with you while you travel. In the case of a medical emergency the treating doctor can provide better medical advice by having access to your case file.
  • If you are on medication, ensure you are carrying with you, medicines advised by your doctor in sufficient quantity along with the doctor’s prescription.
  • You are advised to carry all academic & other certificates and also English translations of your academic certificates.
  • Take a set of photo copies of your all documents including your Student/Research Visa and a copy of offer letter for reference and keep these in safe place.
  • Keep at least a dozen copies of your passport size photograph ready as you might need them and also scanned copy of your passport size photograph on your e mail or in storage device.
  • Ensure that you and your belongings are covered with proper insurance.
  • Try to learn and know as much as you can about India, its customs, culture and about your institution. You may visit www.tourism.gov.in & www.incredibleindia.org.
  • On disembarkation, go to immigration checkpoint and complete the formalities.

  • Apart from regular summer wears suitable for tropical climatic conditions, students are advised to carry warm clothing (Woollen pullovers and jackets for winters).
  • A few formal wears, you would be wearing on the special occasions (like presentation, peminars etc).

  • Pair of formal shoes, sport shoes and slippers.
  • A dozen of your recent passport size photographs.
  • Mobile phone (GSM) unlocked- SIM card type (only if required). SIM card can be purchased from designated sources.

To help you adapt to the new surrounding away from your home easily, the University appoints a study advisor or mentor for students coming from abroad. In case you require assistance at the campus during your period of acclimatization at the University Campus, you should immediately contact your study advisor or mentor.

Try to reach on time for your orientation and enrolment week so that you familiarize yourself with the city, the transport system, your institute and open your bank accounts etc. Observe all security measures as you would do in your own country.

No. There is no entrance examination for foreign candidates, except for the courses in Medicine, Dentistry and Ph D. Admissions is based on merit as per the grades/marks obtained in qualifying examination, provided the student meets the eligibility requirements.

  • Applicants are required to submit the filled in Admission Form along with the required documents. After ascertaining the eligibility, the Provisional Admission Letter will be sent to you by e mail.
  • After receiving the Provisional Admission Letter, to confirm your Admission and Scholarship offered, you will be required to transfer the part of fee as mentioned (minimum deposit before Visa), through any bank to MMDU. Bank account details will be mentioned on the Provisional Admission Letter. This fee will be part of first year tuition fee.
  • Immediately after the bank transfer of fee, email the Wire Transfer/SWIFT Transfer receipt, for early tracking and crediting the money in your name.
  • After receiving the money in MMDU account and signed Undertakings, Letter for Visa or Final Admission Letter will be issued and emailed to you.

Other than the annual tuition fee, students will be required to pay hostel&mess fees and a non-refundable one-time registration fees.

No. A foreign student (citizen) can study at MM(DU) only with a student visa. If the foreign citizen is of Indian origin, then such a candidate can apply and get a PIO (People of Indian Origin) Card or and OCI (Dual Citizenship). Candidates with PIO or OCI can study in India without a student visa.

You can apply for Student Visa at the nearest Indian High Commission/ Indian Embassy with Letter for Visa issued by MM(DU) (confirmed admission letter) and other required documents.

Students should arrive 2-3 days prior to the commencement of classes. You will be informed of the exact date of the commencement of classes.

Nearest airport is Chandigarh and please book air tickets to either Chandigarh airport or New Delhi international airport.

Yes, there is pickup facility from Chandigarh and New Delhi airport, on chargeable basis. Student needs to share the confirmed air tickets, atleast one week before the travel date with the Department of International Affairs.

It is a mandatory for all International students (except those from Nepal and Bhutan) to get their Student Visa registered at FRRO/FRO within 14 days of arrival in India. Department of International Affairs at MM(DU) will guide and assist you with all the required processes.

  • Pass Certificates/Degrees and Transcripts of Qualifying Examination (Grade 10/12/UG)
  • National Identity Card and copy of Passport
  • Notarized translated and attested copies of all educational documents in English, if the educational documents of qualifying examination are not in English.

Yes, you can open your bank account with any of the banks functional in campus after confirmation of your admission and you can also use the ATM facility on various points with in the Campus and almost all of them accept the VISA, MasterCard and Maestro powered cards.

Yes. International Hostel facility is available on campus.

Continental (Non-vegetarian) meal is served in the mess of International hostel.

Indian Rupee (INR) is the currency being used in India. Student can bring the amount in USD or Euro or Sterling Pounds and the same can be exchanged at the Airport.

Many shopping centres are there in the campus and you can purchase most of the daily need items in the campus itself.

Excellent health care facilities are available on campus in the M M Super Speciality Hospital.

May and June are the summer months with maximum temperature reaches upto 420C and November to February are winter months with minimum temperature falls upto 5 to 7 0C. July and August is the rainy season.
