Over a period of time placements have become part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and integral part of the Pedagogy. Though the placements are ongoing process in the university, keeping in view the diversity of the departments that we have. *Every year, the standard placement calendar at MM(DU), Mullana runs from July to March.
At the outset, before the Placement drive begins, the student needs to fill up a Consent Form which makes them eligible to be part of the Upcoming Placement Drives as only the students who submit the form are permitted to sit in placements. In the next step he or she will be part of the group of students who will receive niche training from time to time and thereafter when the season begins the notifications as received by us from company are forwarded to the concerned students to register and be a part of the selection process.
In the Pre-placement Talk, the company delegates deliver a wide vision about the organization and its requirement pertaining to the Job Profile, Location, Cost To Company (CTC), etc., which gives ample scope to the students to decide, as per their career choice, whether they would like to opt for the company or not.
The companies visiting MM(DU) follow the different channels of the selection process to select the right candidate as per the need of the company. Following are some of the steps of the selection processes:
1. Company notification on: Eligibility criteria, position, profile, package, location. If eligible Register.
2. Company Pre-Placement Talk.
3. Written Test / Online Test [Aptitude/ Subjective/ Domain related question]
4. Group Discussion – 1. Panel Discussion, 2. Case study based Discussion.
5. Technical Interview – Domain based.
6. Assignment – Depending on the stream
7. H.R Interview – HR based – 1. Manager round, 2. Director round
The dream packages begin at INR 15 LPA, whilst product-based organizations that visit at the start of the placement season give packages ranging from 10-15 LPA. In the following stage, service-based enterprises that recruit in bulk, CTC typically starts at INR 4-6 LPA.
Yes, MMDU offers two kinds of Internship Programs to our students –
6 Months of Internship Program, Starting from the Month of January to June.
2 Months of Internship Program (Summer Internship), Starting from June to July.
Yes, it is mandatory for all the students who have enrolled for the placements to undergo the Placement training program. Placement Training contains Aptitude, Softskills, and technical training.
The placement team facilitates the students throughout the year with different activities. The students are exposed to experts from the industry who enlighten them and polish their skills according to the industry. The students are provided with company-specific workshops and online aptitude tests to sharpen their logical and analytical skills before the placement processes. Mock GD and PI sessions are also held for the students to facilitate them in the preparation for the final interviews
It varies from one company to another. Few firms might hire without any norms, however others have certain eligibility criteria ranging from matriculation to graduation. Students are encouraged to maintain a grade point average of 65 percent or higher throughout their graduation in order to be considered for final placement.
A student needs to understand that in this competitive environment merely marks don’t guarantee a good job. Good soft skills are equally important and we inculcate these and transform the student to be a potential employee.
