MM(DU), the leading University of North India, celebrated its Founders Day which was held on the birthday of its founder, Sh. Tarsem Garg, on September 11th, 2021. Sh. Tarsem Garg is a man with vision who aspired that everybody irrespective of his/her economic or social profile should get the best kind of higher education. It was he who set up MM Trust in Ambala in 1993 followed by the first MM Engineering College offering B. Tech which was set up in Mullana, Ambala in 1995. The success of MM institutes and all the ventures under MM Education Trust reflects the vision of Sh. Tarsem Garg.
The MM(DU) celebrates the birthday of its founder indulging in social and philanthropic activities to make the day memorable every year. A lineup of interesting activities was planned this year too. MM Institute of Hotel Management organized an online Slogan writing and Debate competition while the Computer Application organized an essay writing competition on ‘Leadership is about nurturing and enhancing’. MM Institute of Medical Science & Research held a Fun Cricket tournament to commemorate the day and Department of Agriculture along with MM College of Pharmacy and NSS Chapter at the MM(DU) organized a Tree Plantation drive. The NSS wing also organized a Blood Donation camp while the NCC unit organized a poem recitation and speech competition.
MM Engineering College organized a National Webinar on ‘Data Science for Cyber Security, Recommendation System and Healthcare’. M.M College of Nursing along with MM Institute of Nursing planned a chess competition to celebrate the day. An online collage making competition was organized by the Department of Law and a guest lecture on ‘Safety of women at workplace’ was held at MM College of Dental Sciences & Research as a part of Founder’s Day celebrations.
Sh. Garg joined the celebrations and cut the cake while thanking the faculty and students for showering them with such love and blessings. A Bhandara was also organized to mark this special day.
